
A practical training-cum-workshop on Herbal Gulal preparation was successfully conducted at Ranaghat on 11th February, 2026, jointly organized by RAPCO FPC and Nadia Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), BCKV.
The programme focused on promoting safe, eco-friendly alternatives to chemical-based colours commonly used during festivals. Participants received hands-on training in preparing herbal gulal from natural ingredients such as flower petals, turmeric, and other plant-based materials. The session covered processing techniques, drying, grinding, natural colouring methods, quality control, and packaging.

Experts highlighted the growing market demand for herbal products and emphasized the potential for income generation among farmers, self-help groups, and rural entrepreneurs. The workshop encouraged sustainable practices while creating new opportunities for value addition and rural enterprise development.
