20th SAC Meeting & Mini Farmers’ Fair


The 20th SAC meeting and mini-fair, held on February 5th to commemorate Nadia KVK’s establishment day, featured a distinguished assembly of attendees. This included Dr. A. K. Patra, the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of BCKV; Dr. P. Dey, Director of ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata (participating online); Prof. P. Dutta, DEE; Prof. S. B. Goswami, Registrar of BCKV; DDA (Admin) Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Horticulture; DDM, Nabard; LDM, Nadia; Scientists from ICAR-NINFET and ICAR-CIFA; the Regional Executive of FAI; the Program Executive of Doordarshan, Kolkata; representatives from FPO and CBBO; industry partners such as Syngenta; the Secretary of RMC, Nadia; a women farmer; a women SHG representative; a farmer member; a young agri-entrepreneur; and the Regional Research Station In-Charge.

During the event, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. A. K. Patra, officially inaugurated four new facilities. These included an incubation facility, funded by ATMA; an upgraded training hall and a duck shelter, both funded by ICAR-ATARI; and a Smart TV, generously donated by the DEASI trainee pass-out batch.

The mini-fair encompassed several key activities, including a scientist-farmer interaction session, recognition ceremonies for the Genome Savior Award winners (2023 & 2025) and billionaire award-winning farmer, the distribution of PPVFRA recognition certificates, and the presentation of DAESI awards and certificates. Additionally, the mini-fair facilitated the distribution of inputs to SC farmers under the SCSP initiative and featured a small exhibition with participation from NADIAKVK, ICAR-NINFET, Switch On CBBO, and various agri-entrepreneurs.
