Participation of MLA, Kalyani Constituency & DEE, BCKV in Balanced Use of Fertilizers under MGMG programme


An awareness programme on Balanced Use of Fertilizers under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG) initiative was successfully organized at Nadia Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) on 21st May 2026 with active participation from farmers, stakeholders, and agricultural experts.

The programme was graced by the presence of Respected MLA, Kalyani Constituency, Shri Anupam Biswas, and Prof. Manabendra Ray, Director of Extension Education (DEE), Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV). The dignitaries interacted with the farmers and emphasized the importance of scientific nutrient management practices for sustainable agricultural development.

During the programme, experts highlighted the significance of soil test-based nutrient management, balanced and judicious application of fertilizers, and integrated nutrient management approaches to maintain soil fertility and improve crop productivity. Discussions were also held on minimizing excessive fertilizer use, protecting soil health, and ensuring environmentally sustainable farming practices.

The initiative aimed to create awareness among farmers regarding the efficient utilization of fertilizers for achieving higher productivity while preserving long-term soil health. Farmers actively participated in the interactive sessions and shared their field-level experiences and challenges related to nutrient management.

The programme concluded with a collective appeal to adopt sustainable and balanced fertilizer use practices for enhancing agricultural productivity and safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
